Dropout rate in on-line research

How to make the respondent continue and complete the survey? We are preparing the publication based on the results of research on the reduction of the number of participants dropping out from continuing the survey before the formal end of the questionnaire in studies conducted over the Internet (so-called dropout rate).

The results show that only the simultaneous use of two techniques to reduce dropout –raised bar and warm-up –allows for significant reduction in the dropout proportion. Both of these methods aim to increase the involvement of the respondents, making the people who are prone to halting mid-way do it quickly, before proceeding to the most important phase of the study.

This issue is important because of the quality of data collected via web surveys, which significantly affects the ability to draw accurate conclusions. At the same time it is closely linked with the use of online and interactive tools for the purposes of scientific research.
