POL-on – The information System about Higher Education
POL-on is an integrated information system for higher education, which supports the work of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as other Ministries and institutions of science and higher education. Its major task is to create a global database of scientific institutions, universities and Polish science. Collected information support the decision-making process of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education regarding Polish universities and research units. A range of information collected in the system is made available to the public.Support system for selection of reviewers
Dynamic and adaptive model of the collection, analysis and evaluation of potential reviewers, as well as various articles and research proposals. The system is currently used by the National Centre for Research and Development. However, we invite all interested to collaborate on new deployments.

Pythia
The idea is to create a data warehouse and analytical portal based on Map Reduce and Big Data, which aim is to search and analyze multidimensional data stored in the databases of the Information Processing Institute.
Pythia will be processing:
– Numerical data, on the basis of which a multi-dimensional analysis will be formed as well as forecasts for higher education and research, based on nonlinear neural modeling.
– Text data searched using full-text search and an innovative contextual search algorithm, which consists of discovering the meaning of exploring the contexts of the search terms.

In this project algorithms of machine learning are widely applicable as well as natural language processing, methods of web crawling and processing of large data sets (MapReduce).

Polish Keyword Extractor
Polish Keywords Extractor is a dedicated keywords extraction method focused on polish language, inspired by algorithms RAKE and KEA. It has polish lemmatizer, Part-Of-Speech filters and different evaluation solutions (statistic function , or naive bayes classifier). This algorithm has two candidate selection methods, and two candidate evaluation methods. PKE starts with splitting text into sentences. Each sentence is represented as a sequence of words. Next words are normalized (lemmatized) and tagged with Part-Of-Speech properties. Keyword candidates selection is performed in order to find finite number of potential significant phrases. Finally candidates are evaluated by models (classifier or statistic function), and limited number of them with the highest scores are retrieved.Nauka Polska
The database held by OPI since 1991 is the most comprehensive and up-to-date database of this kind in Poland, available to the viewers free of charge. From the moment it was published on the Internet in 1999, we have recorded a growing number of interest both from institutions and individual users.Pi-Platform
Pi platform is a collaborative service supporting high education sector in order to fit the economic expectations of a labour market. The basic goal of the project is to integrate data about graduates careers with universities data and employers needs.

The database of research equipment
The database of research equipment is a project by Information Processing Institute, on behalf of Ministry of Science and Higher Education. Which is designed to create a publicly accessible database with information about research resources of scientific institutions. Created in order to popularize research equipment for potential users both academic and industrial.

On-line election
In 2012, we participated in the preparation of the elections to the Central Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles. It was the first in Poland fully electronic elections. IT system designed and executed by us allow participants to vote electronically. People with the title of professor have taken part in the voting. The electoral system operated from 26 November to 10 December 2012.In the voting process proparticipated 7 734 people.
