New media on the rise

We have analyzed various ways of using the Internet with mobile (smartphones, tablets) and less mobile devices (laptops, desktop computers).

The survey identified reasons why more and more people are using the web almost constantly, shopping, visiting virtual banks, contacting family and friends, solving everyday problems.

The results can inspire a wider use of touch screens and mobile applications in schools and universities as the environment of touch interfaces becomes an increasingly natural and useful tool for young, active network users to achieve and fulfill the ever growing number of objectives and needs. We have also gathered information which may be helpful in coping with the problem of the digital divide.
