About the Programme

The Smart Growth Operational Programme is a national operational programme for financing research, development and innovation. Its aim is to raise the innovativeness of Polish economy by increasing investment in R&D incurred by businesses.

The National Information Processing Institute serves as one of the institutions implementing priority axis IV,Increasing the scientific and research potential”,underMeasure 4.2 “Development of modern research infrastructure of the science sector.”

The goal of the Measure 4.2 is to support selected national or international projects of the large strategic research infrastructure, located on the Polish Roadmap for Research Infrastructures and ensure effective access to this infrastructure for entrepreneurs and other interested parties.

Measure 4.2 supports research institutions, consortia of scientific institutions, universities, consortia of universities, consortia of scientific institutions and enterprises as well as consortia of universities (including special purpose vehicles of universities) and enterprises.

The opening ceremony of the first competition under the Measure 4.2 was held on the 30th of June, 2015 at the Institute of Industrial Design in Warsaw during the “Investment in education – investment in the economy” conference. Within the framework of the Measure 4.2 academic institutions can receive more than 800 million PLN for construction or expansion of unique research infrastructure.
