The Laboratory of Statistical Analyses and Evaluation, part of the National Information Processing Institute, is a member of the new Step4EU initiative.
Step4EU stands for Science, Technology, Education and Policy for Europe. The aim of the initiative is to create a network of independent influential institutions which would affect the development of policies for science, technology and higher education in Europe.
The initiative is expected to create an observatory of policy in the field of science and higher education in Europe, supported by research in this field. Research conducted under Step4EU is expected to elicit a public debate between representatives of the science sector and institutions, affecting the legal regulations on key issues concerning the directions of science in Europe.
The expected future result of the initiative is implementation of international research projects. By joining Step4EU, OPI PIB has become one of 20 organizations from across Europe specializing in research on science, innovation and higher education.
